Homemade Egg Replacer

This is such a useful powder to have in the cupboard. I use it all the time for all sorts of cooking, and the recipe is all thanks to veganbaking.net, an amazingly educational website dedicated to vegan baking. They have a good variety of homemade egg replacers, all with different uses in cooking and baking!

I’m including it here as it is needed for a few of my recipes on this blog, and so wanted to make it easily accessible. This recipe makes a large amount and it will keep really well in a sealed jar.

2½ cups arrowroot powder

½ cup baking powder

1 Tbsp guar gum or xanthan gum (I use xanthan gum)

Whisk all ingredients together until well combined and store in a sealed glass jar.

For 1 egg equivalent whisk 1½ tsp powder with 3 Tbsp water, or use as recipe directs.
